COLOMBO (News1st): The Muthurajwala wetlands will be brought under the Urban Development Authority, environment minister Mahinda Amaraweera has said.
"This area will be developed as a destination for tourists who love to visit places of environmental value," Amaraweera told reporters on Wednesday.
He added that the development of the wetlands will take place under a joint venture involving several entities.
This includes the Urban Development Authority, Central Environmental Authority, Environment Ministry, Geological Survey and Mines Bureau, and the Department of Wildlife Conservation.
