COLOMBO (News 1st): The Department of Prisons says that Prison Officials will be given the COVID-19 vaccine from tomorrow (Feb. 16th) onwards.

Media Spokesman for the Department – Commissioner of Prisons, Chandana Ekanayake said that the vaccination program will commence at the Centre for Research and Training in Corrections.

He further stated, 5100 officials are expected to be vaccinated under this program.

The vaccination program which will commence in the Western Province is expected to be expanded to other provinces as well.
