COLOMBO (News 1st): The respective health authorities were requested to provide the COVID-19 jab for University students and lecturers, the University Grants Commission (UGC) said.
The relevant documents in this regard were already submitted to the respective health authorities including the Director-General of Health Services, Prof. Sampath Amaratunge, the University Grants Commission (UGC) told News 1st on Thursday (Feb. 11).
Prof. Amaratunge has requested medical students attached to hospitals be prioritized when administering the COVID-19 vaccine for university students.
According to the UGC, currently there are 4800 medical students from state universities across the island attached to hospitals.
