26,749 Criminal Cases concluded in 2019/20 : AGs Dept

Colombo (News 1st); The Attorney General's Department concluded action with regard to 26,749 Criminal Cases from 01st January 2019 to 31st December 2020. State Counsel Nishara Jayaratne, the coordinating officer to the Attorney General speaking to News 1st said 14,083 indictments were forwarded to the High Courts with respect to those cases. Further 6061 suspects were discharged and Sri Lanka Police advised on 6099 cases.
