Protest seeking to resolve issues of Tamils

COLOMBO (News1st): A protest was staged by representatives of political parties in the Northern province seeking to resolve the issues of the Tamil community. But the police informed protestors that court approval had not been granted for the demonstration, leading to a tense situation. The police together with personnel attached to the Special Task Force then took steps to remove banners displayed by the protestors. But the protestors continued their march until the Thalamkuda area in Batticaloa.
