Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 fatalities rises to 323 on 01st of February

Colombo (News 1st);  The Director General of Health Services confirmed seven (07) deaths caused by Covid-19 virus infection. 

Accordingly, the total number of deaths due to Covid-19 infection in Sri Lanka is 323. 

  1. The deceased is a 75-year-old female from Wattala. She was transferred from Colombo North Teaching Hospital to the Base Hospital Mulleriyawa where she died on 31.01.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as a kidney disease complicated by Covid 19 infection and a stroke due to blood poisoning.

  2. The deceased is a 69-year-oldmale from Nugegoda. He was diagnosed as infected with Covid 19 and transferred from Apeksha Hospital Maharagama to the base hospital Homagama where he died on 01.02.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia and a cancer.
     
  3. The deceased is a 72-year-oldmale from Colombo 02. He was diagnosed as infected with Covid-19 virus and transferred from a private hospital in Colombo to the Base hospital Homagama where he died on 31.01.2021. The Cause of death is mentioned as an acute lung infection with Covid 19 infection and a heart attack.
     
  4. The deceased is a 69-year-oldmale from Udugampola. He died on 01.02.2021 on admission to District Hospital, Gampaha. The cause of death is mentioned as a heart attack with Covid19 infection.
     
  5. The deceased is a 39-year-old male from Polonnaruwa. He died on 30.01.2021 at his residence. The cause of death is mentioned as multiple organ dysfunctions with blood poisoning, bronchopneumonia with Covid-19 infection and a kidney infection.

  6. The deceased is a 73-year-old female from Madawala. She died on 01.02.2021 while undergoing treatments at Base Hospital Theldeniya. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia and heart failure.

  7. The deceased is a 77-year-old male from Gelioya. He was transferred from Teaching Hospital Peradeniya to the Base Hospital Theldeniya where he died on 01.02.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as blood poisoning with Covid pneumonia, acute diabetes and a kidney disease.
