8500 recruited as trainee graduates in public service

COLOMBO (News 1st): Steps were taken to recruit another 8500 as trainee graduates in the public service, the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government said. The group was recruited after considering the appeals from graduates who did not qualify in the first round for the training programme in the public service, J.J. Ratnasiri, the Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration said on Tuesday (Feb. 02). According to Ratnasiri, the appointment letters of the new recruits were sent to the respective Divisional Secretary. At present, 50,000 graduates have been recruited for training in public service.
