Allow former players to manage cricket : Arjuna

COLOMBO (News1st): Sri Lanka's former world cup winning cricket captain Arjuna Ranatunga has called for the management of the game to be entrusted with former national players. "...if we are given that responsibility, we will make certain crucial decisions in six months," Ranatunga said at a news conference on Thursday. He insisted that an overhaul of the entire structure is required to uplift the game and that providing temporary solutions would be insufficient. But, the former national cricketer said he would not get involved in the current administration of the game as the process is in a disarray. "Good cricketers will not get involved in this. But if the management is handed over to us, they will be interested in lending their contribution," he noted.
