2808 FACE MASK VIOLATORS ARRESTED SINCE OCT 2020

COLOMBO (News 1st): Several special quarantine operations will be carried out in the Western province and other parts of the country today (Jan. 28) and during the weekend, Sri Lanka Police said. "16 people were arrested in a 24-hour window that ended on Thursday morning (Jan. 28), for the failure to wear face masks and maintain social distances," Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana told reporters. Since 30th October 2020, to-date a total of 2808 people were arrested for the failure to follow COVID-19 quarantine rules and regulations, according to the Deputy Police Chief.
