COLOMBO (News1st): President of the Surakimu Sri Lanka Organization Ven. Pahiyangala Ananda Sagara Thero has accused India of adopting a policy that has affected Sri Lanka throughout the years.

Speaking to the media on Friday, the civic activist observed that India has been accused of links to tragic incidents including the assassination of late President Ranasinghe Premadasa and the April 21st attacks in 2019. Ven. Pahiyangala Ananda Sagara Thero also blamed India for acting in a manner that would destroy diplomatic relations with Sri Lanka while breaching international agreements. He accused the neighbouring nation of appointing stooges among trade unions that are opposing attempts to give away a portion of the Colombo Port's East Container Terminal to India's Adani group. While condemning such moves, the president of the Surakimu Sri Lanka Organization cautioned that media outlets that are voicing concerns against such activities face a threat of being attacked in the future.
