National resources being exploited: Chaminda

COLOMBO (News1st): The country's valuable resources are being used by ministers for business dealings, an opposition parliamentarian has said. "This is why they are trying to give away the East Container Terminal to the Adani Group," Chaminda Wijesiri, a Samagi Jana Balawegaya lawmaker noted. He claimed that the government is trying to give away 49 percent of the terminal to the Adani group and the remainder to one of its affiliated companies Sunil Handunnetti, a former parliamentarian said that the government's pledge to reclaim national assets sold to foreign entities have had no effect. "The buyers know that they are not going to do it. They just made these statements to mislead the public," Handunnetti noted.
