Allies trying to protect government : Lalkantha

COLOMBO (News1st): Certain individuals who worked to elect the government to power are trying to cover up the wrong activities of the government, K.D. Lalkantha, the president of the National Trade Union Centre has said. He made these remarks while opposing attempts to give away a 49 percent of the Colombo Port's East Container Termina to India's Adani Group. "This struggle cannot be won if those telling lies are not exposed," Lalkantha noted. He pointed out that several allies of the government have laid the blame for this situation on several individuals in a bid to protect the image of the government. "...it was Gotabaya Rajapaksa who came out and declared that a faction of the port will be given to India," he observed.
