Construction workers injured after a mound of earth collapses in Thalangama

Two construction workers were injured after a mound of earth collapsed on them in the Thalangama Battaramulla around 9 am today (17th Jan) while they were constructing a wall. One of the victims was rescued by the area residents and admitted to the hospital. . The police and army together with the area residents managed to save the 2nd victim buried under the rubble. The two victims were identified as R.A.B. Perera and Udaya Kumara. Both workers were admitted to the Thalangama Base Hospital and eventually transferred to the Colombo National Hospital. Hospital sources said that the injured victims are in stable condition.
