Colombo (News 1st); 15 members of parliament who subject themselves to PCR tests have tested negative for the coronavirus.
According to the parliament of Sri Lanka, the 15 MPs underwent PCR tests on Wednesday (13).
On Friday (15) a number of Parliamentarians and Staff underwent PCR tests at the Parliament premises, said Sergeant-at-Arms Narendra Fernando.
Around 25 members of parliament were placed in self-quarantine after Dayasiri Jayasekera, Rauff Hakeem and Vasudeva Nanayakkara tested positive for COVID-19.
In addition, Prime Minister's Political Affairs Coordinating Secretary Kumarasiri Hettige also tested positive for COVID-19.
Further, Secretary to the Chief Government Whip of Parliament Chaminda Kularatne also tested positive for COVID-19.
Close contacts of Kumarasiri Hettige & Chaminda Kularatne were placed in quarantine.
