20 KG OF HEROIN SEIZED IN KOSGODA

COLOMBO (News 1st): Police Special Task Force (STF) recovered 20 kilograms of Heroin in the Kosgoda area, during a raid conducted on Tuesday (Jan. 12), Sri Lanka Police said. The seized stock of narcotics was handed over to the Police Narcotic Bureau for further investigations, Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana said on Wednesday (Jan. 13). "Three main raids have been conducted in the Southern part of the country by STF and Police Narcotic Bureau (PNB), and a number of suspects had been arrested in connection with drug offences. So the Police Narcotic Bureau is currently conducting further investigations to trace the suspect who had kept the 20 kg of Heroin in Kosgoda," the Deputy Police Chief elaborated. According to DIG Ajith Rohana, Sri Lanka Police conducted three large-scale anti-narcotic raids in the Peliyagoda, Mount Lavinia, and Kosgoda on Tuesday (Jan. 12). Thereby, one person was arrested with 50 grams of Heroin by Peliyagoda Police, and another suspect was arrested with 20 grams of Heroin during the raid conducted by Mount Lavinia Police.
