NO CHANGE TO CREMATION OF COVID-19 VICTIMS: MINISTER

COLOMBO (News 1st): Minister of Health - Pavithra Wanniarachchi told parliament on Thursday (Jan. 07) that recommendations were already presented to cremate the bodies of those who die due to COVID-19 infection. The Ministry of Health will take measures to implement the recommendations presented by the Committee appointed to inquire into the cremation or burial of COVID-19 infected bodies, Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi further said. The Minister of Health further emphasized that the decision to cremate the bodies of COVID-19 victims, will not be subjected to changes based on religious, political, personal, or any other influence.
