COLOMBO (News1st): Tumeric farmers in the Ampara district are complaining of substandard harvests due to lack of fertilizer.
“We started our cultivation with high hopes but the harvest turned out to be of very poor quality,” a farmer told News1st on Wednesday.
Farmers said that the quality of their crops had been lost due to the spread of a fungus among their fields.
They are requesting the government to resolve their problem.
