In a statement published on social media, the Minister said the process of charging Sri Lankan expatriates to undergo quarantine at a hotel at an exorbitant cost must be suspended immediately.

He said all Sri Lankan expatriates must be placed in quarantine at zero cost by the government of Sri Lanka rather than having them pay for quarantine at hotels.
