Long distance bus services to resume today

COLOMBO(News 1st): Long-distance bus services will resume operations starting today, the State Ministry of Passenger Transport said. These long-distance bus services had not been implemented properly so far, State Minister Dilum Amunugama stated. With the COVID-19 pandemic, there is a shortage of buses on certain routes due to the restrictions imposed by private bus owners, the State Minister added. Thereby, the aim of the government is to fill the gap by using SLTB buses, he further said. Long-distance trains will not resume services adding only office trains have been added to the service, the Department of Railways stated.
