COLOMBO (News 1st): Several Grama Niladhari Divisions in Rambukkana and Kattankudy were placed in isolation after 24 people were confirmed COVID-19 positive following COVID-19 tests, Sri Lanka Police said on Friday (Jan. 01).
“Tests were conducted in respect of 600 people in Kattankudy area yesterday where 24 people were identified as COVID-19 positive cases,” Police Spokesperson, DIG Ajith Rohana said.
Random COVID-19 tests will be carried out in order to control the pandemic and sough the public assistance in this regard, the Deputy Police Chief said.
“Time to time random tests are conducted in respect of the persons, especially who live in vulnerable areas; in order to identify them, treat them and apart from that to isolate the close contacts in order to control the pandemic,” the Police Spokesperson further said.
Thereby, the DIG Ajith Rohana sought public assistance to contain the spread of the pandemic.
