Colombo (News 1st);  The Ministry of Justice said around 6000 Government Analyst’ reports are pending adding the backlog was in existence over the past 06 months.

These are reports are those which need to be directed to the courts, said the Justice Ministry.

In addition, 800,000 cases are pending in the courts across the island, said the Justice Ministry adding it would take 15 years to complete all these cases.

A senior officer at the Ministry of Justice said in order to expedite these pending cases new courts will be established and magistrates will be appointed.
