COLOMBO (News 1st): The Ministry of Health has taken steps to establish new treatment centers for COVID-19 patients, ministry officials said.
Measures are underway to obtain small schools that are currently closed, for emergency use as COVID-19 treatment centres, Dr. Lal Panapitiya, Deputy Director-General of Health Services of the Ministry of Health said on Sunday (Dec. 27).
According to Dr. Lal Panapitiya, medical officers of the relevant provinces are preparing the necessary arrangements for this purpose.
At present, there are nearly 70 such COVID-19 treatment centers established across the island.
