FACE MASK VIOLATERS – 31 ARRESTED

COLOMBO (News 1st): Sri Lanka Police arrested 31 suspects in a 24-hour window for the failure to wear face masks and maintain social distance, police said. Since 30th October to-date, a total of 1860 people have been arrested for the violation of COVID-19 regulations including the wearing of face masks and maintaining social distances, Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana said on Sunday (Dec. 27). The quarantine isolation order in respect of nine police jurisdiction in Colombo-North and Central Colombo and Avissawella, Kosgama, and Ruwanwella police jurisdictions continues to remain in effect. "Those who are in the isolated areas are not permitted to leave the respective region and outsiders are not permitted to enter," the Deputy Police Chief emphasized.
