600 ARRESTED FOR DRUNK DRIVING: POLICE

COLOMBO (News 1st): Sri Lanka Police have so far arrested 600 motorists for driving under the influence since the launch of special Traffic Operations on 20th December. Six people were killed in six road accidents on Friday (Dec. 25), Police Spokesperson - DIG Ajith Rohana said. "Six fatal accidents were reported yesterday (25) and six people were killed. Therefore, drivers, pedestrians, and passengers have a responsibility to prevent road traffic accidents. Kindly, take all precautionary/ preventive measures to avert road traffic accidents," the Deputy Police Chief emphasized.
