Sri Lanka's COVID-19 death toll hits 186

COLOMBO (News1st): Sri Lanka confirmed one death due to COVID-19 on Friday bringing the local death toll due to the virus to 186. The deceased, a 54-year old male from Akkaraipattu, had passed away on Thursday, the government information department said in a statement. He had been transferred from the Akkaraipattu Base Hospital to the Batticaloa Teaching Hospital after being diagnosed with COVID-19. The cause of death of the deceased has been identified as acute cardiac injury caused by the virus.
