SPECIAL SECURITY PLAN IMPLEMENTED FOR CHRISTMAS

COLOMBO (News 1st): A special security plan is in place on Friday (Dec. 25) to ensure security at churches in line with Christmas, Sri Lanka Police said. The Inspector-General of Police issued a special directive yesterday evening (24) to all Superintendents of Police in-charge of divisions, Sub-Superintendents, and Police OICs, Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana said. Thereby, the IGP had instructed to meet with Reverend Fathers at Churches in the respective areas, discuss the matter and implement the special security programme. The Police Headquarters will be monitoring the situation throughout. The IGP instructed to implement this special security programme considering the possibility of people visiting churches in large crowds, the Deputy Police Chief emphasized.
