Thotawatte, Alupotha & Badalkumbura isolated: Army Commander

COLOMBO (News 1st): Thotawatte in Panadura and Alupotha & Badalkumbura in Moneragala were placed under isolation with effect on Tuesday (Dec. 15), announced Army Commander - Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, the Head of the National Operations Centre for the Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) on Tuesday (Dec. 15). The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Sri Lanka has risen to 34,121, with another 622 new cases being confirmed on Tuesday (Dec. 15). The new cases confirmed were associates of the Peliyagoda, Minuwangoda clusters, and from Prisons, the Department of Government Information said. As of Wednesday (16), there are 9100 active COVID-19 patients receiving treatment, while the total recoveries stand at 24,867. The COVID-19 death toll in Sri Lanka is at 154.
