The Criminal Investigation Department launches investigation into the Supreme Court fire

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Criminal Investigation Department has launched an investigation headed by a Superintendent of Police, into the fire that broke out at the Supreme Court Complex. Three CID teams were appointed yesterday, to carry out investigations into the matter. Special police teams have also been assigned to investigate the matter. The Keselwatta police presented facts regarding the fire, to the Aluthkade magistrate court today. The fire broke out yesterday, at a waste storage located in the basement of the Supreme Court Complex. However, the archives or any other property, were not damaged by the fire. "We will look into this matter, to determine the cause of the fire and ascertain whether it started by humans or by natural causes." said Minister of Public Security Retired Rear Admiral (Dr.) Sarath Weerasekera.
