PC polls : Cabinet paper to be tabled on Monday

COLOMBO (News1st): A proposal will be submitted for cabinet approval on Monday to expedite arrangements for the provincial polls, provincial councils minister Janaka Bandara Thennakoon has said. He had made these remarks during a Women's Convention of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna in Dambulla. "The President, Prime Minister, and Basil Rajapaksa have instructed us to conduct the provincial council elections at the earliest," Thennakoon pointed out. He said that the decision to conduct the provincial polls had been made during a meeting involving former provincial councillors and provincial council chairmen at Temple Trees recently.
