COLOMBO (News1st): Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has instructed the National Research Council to expedite the validation process of local medications claimed to be successful in treating COVID-19. This includes the indigenous medicines proposed separately by the Colombo University, and doctors Harsha Subasinghe and Indika Jagoda, and a syrup developed by indigenous medical practitioner Dhammika Bandara. Meanwhile, the National Research Council has handed over a report to the Prime Minister on the top three COVID-19 vaccines, the Prime Minister's media division said in a statement. This was after the Prime Minister had directed the council to study and submit a report on vaccines for COVID-19 that have been manufactured overseas.
