COLOMBO (News1st): Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has said that the government will focus on improving fisheries exports to generate revenue to the country. "We continue to import fish although our country is surrounded by an ocean. The fish in our waters are obtained by other countries," Rajapaksa said on Sunday. He made these remarks during a groundbreaking ceremony for two anchorages in Tangalle and Mawella. "...a moratorium would be offered for loan and leasing repayments of those in the fisheries industry," state fisheries minister Kanchana Wijesekera said during the event. The cost for the anchorage in Tangalle has been estimated at more than Rs 379 million and the anchorage in Mawella at Rs 380 million.
