Bus transporting COVID-19 patients crashes on to an oncoming bus

Colombo (News 1st); A bus transporting 23 COVID-19 positive patients to Punani for treatment, met with an accident after colliding with another bus plying from Kattankudy to Polonnaruwa.

Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana speaking to News 1st said the accident had taken place in Aselapura, Welikdanda on Friday (04) morning, and an investigation is underway.

The drivers of both buses and 02 of the 23 COVID-19 cases were injured and moved to hospital for immediate treatment.
