Sri Lanka records five more COVID-19 deaths

COLOMBO (News1st): Sri Lankan health authorities, on Thursday, confirmed five deaths due to COVID-19, raising the death toll due to the virus in the country to 129. The details of the deceased, whose tests returned positive results for COVID-19, as released by the department of government information are as follows;
  1. A 56-year old female from Kolonnawa, who died on November 28 at the Colombo National Hospital. The cause of her death has been identified as heart failure and diabetes that had aggravated as a complication caused due to COVID-19.
  2. An 89-year old male from Colombo 12, who died on December 2 at the Colombo National Hospital. His cause of death has been identified as high blood pressure, and internal bleeding in the head, along with COVID-19.
  3. An 85-year old male from Colombo 10, who died on November 30 at the Colombo National Hospital. His cause of death has been identified as a bacteria infection that had aggravated due to COVID-19.
  4. A 71-year old male from Colombo 10, who died at his residence on December 2. His cause of death has been identified as heart failure and COVID-19.
  5. A 78-year old male from Colombo 03, who died on Thursday at the Colombo National Hospital. His cause of death has been identified as pneumonia and respiratory infection caused due to the virus.
