Colombo (News 1st);  The Parliamentary Council which met today has ratified the nominations made by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to 05 commissions.

These commissions are the Finance Commission, Public Service Commission, Police Commission, Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery and Corruption (CIABOC), and the National Election Commission.

Further, Nimal Punchihewa will be the new Chairman of the National Elections Commission, replacing Mahinda Deshapriya.
