COLOMBO (News 1st): The Government of Sri Lanka has taken measures to conduct the repatriation of Sri Lankans daily, authorities said.
Around 300 repatriated Sri Lankans arrive in the island daily, and the rate of Sri Lankans repatriated daily will be increased to 500 in the future, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, the Army Commander and Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) said on Saturday (Nov. 28).
Meanwhile, another batch of 191 Sri Lankans arrived in the island on Saturday morning (Nov. 28).
The Duty Manager at the Bandaranaike International Airport said, 96 from Qatar, 52 from Chennai, and 42 arrived from Abu Dhabi.
All returning passengers were quarantined following PCR tests.
