Transfer SSP Shani Abeysekara to IDH: Opp. Leader Premadasa

COLOMBO (News 1st): The life of Former Director of the Criminal Investigations Department, SSP Shani Abeysekara who rendered a great service to the country, is currently at risk, Leader of the Opposition, Sajith Premadasa told parliament on Friday (Nov. 27).

The Former CID Director has been taken from Mahara to the Gallella jurisdiction, after being exposed to COVID-19, noted the Opposition leader.

"I'd like to remind you that SSP Shani Abeysekara is a chronic patient with Diabetes and Heart conditions. There is a critical issue regarding his life," Opposition Leader, Premadasa emphasized.

Thereby, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa requested parliament that SSP Shani Abeysekara be transferred to the Infectious Disease Hospital, instead of transporting him to a quarantine centre located somewhere as far as 200 km away.
