Colombo (News 1st); The Sri Lanka Transport Board decided to establish a COVID-19 Relief Insurance Fund for passengers using SLTB buses.
Accordingly, if a passenger using a Sri Lanka Transport Board Bus is infected with COVID-19 while traveling in the bus, the passenger will be compensated with Rs. 10,000/-.
In the event such a passenger succumbs to COVID-19, the family will be compensated with Rs. 50,000/-.
In order to claim the compensation, the passenger of the family must be in possession of the ticket used to travel on the bus.
The Sri Lanka Transport Board said the payment will only be made after the COVID-19 Special Task Force, SLTB Intelligence, Public Health Inspector, and Medical Staff confirm the passenger was infected with COVID-19 while traveling in the SLTB Bus.
