Colombo (News 1st); Senior officers of the Attorney General’s Department appeared for Sri Lanka Police at Mullaithivu Magistrate’s Court to make submissions to prevent the Mahaviru commemoration from taking place.
This was confirmed to News 1st by State Counsel Nishara Jayaratne, the Coordinating Officer to the Attorney General on Tuesday (24).
At the same time Attorney General Dappula De Livera directed senior officers of the AG’s Department to appear at Killinochchi & Jaffna Magistrate Courts to make submissions to prevent the Mahaviru commemoration, she said.
However, due to adverse weather conditions, the submission at the Jaffna Magistrate’s Court was postponed to Wednesday (25).
