He said even though the government proposed to generate tax revenue, it does not specify the program it would implement to generate such revenue.

Sunil Handunnetti further said in order to bridge the budget deficit, the present government will have to obtain more loans.

He went on to note, Sri Lanka will not be able to settle its foreign debt even if it exhausts all its foreign reserves.
