Colombo (News 1st); The Director-General of Health Services has given permission to conduct rapid antigen testing in Sri Lanka.
Dr. Sudath Samaraweera, Head of the Epidemiology Unit, said that the Director-General of Health Services had given the necessary recommendations on Tuesday (17) to conduct rapid antibody testing kits or rapid antigen testing in Sri Lanka.
He further commented it is ready to be used for identified groups from Wednesday (18).
He added this will be used to identify the presence of COVID-19 among the close contacts of the patients already identified through testing.
