Police Ops to continue despite COVID-19 pandemic

601 weapons seized by Sri Lanka Police from 01st Jan. 2020 to-date

Colombo (News 1st); DIG Ajith Rohana said despite police officers being deployed to enforce the quarantine law across the country, the anti-narcotic operations, firearms as well as vice operations are continuing.

He said from the 01st of January to-date Sri Lanka Police detected 601 weapons in various operations.

These include 54 T-56 Assualt Rifles, 05 T-81 Assault Rifles, 02 Rifles, 39 Pistols, 27 revolvers, 06 Repeater Shotguns, 161 Shotguns, 188 Muzzle Loading Guns, 32 Locally manufactured Gal-Katas weapons and multiple other weapons.
