Colombo (News 1st); The World Health Organization has agreed to provide the COVID-19 vaccine to 20% of Sri Lanka’s population, announced the Health Ministry of Monday (09).
Health Minister Pavithra Vanniarachchi has appointed a committee to look into matters relating to providing the vaccine to Sri Lankans.
A meeting on releasing the COVID-19 vaccine in Sri Lanka took place on Monday (09) at the Health Ministry between Health Minister Pavithra Vanniarachchi, State Minister Channa Jayasumana, and WHO Representative to Sri Lanka Dr. Razia Pendse.
The committee appointed by the Health Minister will be tasked with exploring the possibility of generating funds, selecting those eligible for the vaccine, resources management, accumulating information and filing reports.
