Call 011 7 966 366 if you develop symptoms during Q/Curfew; Health Secretary

Colombo (News 1st); The Health Ministry introduced an emergency hotline to contact, if anyone develops symptoms of COVID-19.

The number is 011 7 966 366.

When a person contacts the above number, the authorities will direct the person to a dedicated team who would assess the information and dispatch a team to conduct a PCR test.

Major General Sanjeewa Munasinghe, Sri Lanka's Health Secretary warned COVID-19 will be fatal or dangerous for those with chronic diseases and added precaution must be taken by everyone to prevent contracting or spreading the disease.

He said COVID-19 can easily be contracted by children and the elderly, as their immunity would be low to combat the virus.

He also urged the general public to comply with the Health Regulations introduced by the Health Ministry.
