Colombo (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police launched an operation to locate the people who violated the quarantine regulations by leaving the Western Province and obtaining accommodation in hotels and guest houses in other areas.
On Thursday (29) Sri Lanka Police cautioned residents from the Western Province to refrain from leaving for other areas.
Sri Lanka Police said the operation was launched to obtain information on the people who violated the quarantine regulations, especially those who dodged Sri Lanka Police checkpoints, to exit the Western Province.
Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana said after the quarantine curfew blanketing the entire Western Province is lifted on Monday the 02nd of November, people returning to the Western Province will be subject to scrutiny.
Strict legal action will be instituted against all the violators, said DIG Ajith Rohana.
