Colombo (News 1st); 5413 COVID-19 cases are being treated at 43 treatment centers in Sri Lanka and the 44th treatment center will be in operation within another day, said Acting Deputy Director-General of Health Services Dr. Hemantha Herath on Friday (30).
Further, 07 intermediary treatment centers are also in operation, he said.
On Thursday (29), 11,773 PCR tests were carried out across the country and the total PCR tests conducted so far stand at 490, 563.
Director of the Epidemiology Unit Dr. Sudath Samaraweera urged the General Public to follow the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health as there is a surge in cases within the Colombo Municipal Council area.
He stressed those living in apartments must refrain from visiting other units in the same building and always remain indoor when the quarantine curfew is in effect.
He said if the preventive measures are not followed, strict measures will have to be implemented to control the spread of the virus.
