8,066 PCR tests carried out in Sri Lanka on Saturday, as COVID-19 cases continue to rise

Colombo (News 1st); The total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda & Peliyagoda clusters, as of this morning, stands at 4,052, said the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) on Sunday (25).

To-date, 57,221 individuals have left for homes after completing the mandatory quarantine period.

As of this morning (25), 8,158 persons in 74 tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine.

On Saturday (24), 8,066 PCR tests were carried out across the country and the total PCR tests conducted so far stands at 432, 801.

This morning (25), 70 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals.

05 of them are expatriates and 65 are identified as close contacts of the Minuwangoda factory-infected employees who were in quarantine at QCs.
