Colombo (News 1st); 309 COVID-19 cases were reported in Sri Lanka on Thursday (22), said the Department of Government Information, and all these cases were from the Minuwangoda Cluster.
On Thursday morning, 50 COVID-19 cases were reported and according to the Department of Government 22 of these cases were employees attached to 02 factories located at the Katunayake Trade Zone.
06 cases are from the Peliyagoda Fish Market, it added.
The other 22 cases which were detected are close contacts of COVID-19 cases reported from the Minuwangoda Cluster.
Thereafter, on Thursday evening, another 259 COVID-19 cases were reported.
02 of these cases were from Quarantine Centers, 182 were from the Peliyagoda Fish Market and the other 75 cases were associates.
Accordingly, the total number of COVID-19 cases from the Minuwangoda Cluster rose to 2817.
With the latest addition, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Sri Lanka is at 6287 with 2712 patients in the hospital and 3561 recoveries.
