Advisory issued for strong winds and rough seas

COLOMBO (News1st): The department of meteorology has issued an advisory for strong winds and rough seas in the country. Wind speed in the sea areas extending from Hambanthota to Pottuvil and from Puttalam to Kankasanturai via Mannar may range between 60 and 70 kmph, the advisory read. It added that wind speed in the sea areas extending from Kankasanturai to Trincomalee via Mullaitivu may range between 50 and 60 kmph. Gusty winds between 50 and 55 kmph can be expected in the other sea areas around the island and will be fairly rough at times, according to the department.
