Update details of workers; govt. requests employers

COLOMBO (News1st): The government has requested public and private sector organizations to update the personal details of its employees, to ease contract tracing amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. These details should be updated within the next three days, police spokesman Ajith Rohana, a deputy inspector general said on Tuesday. This decision had been made due to issues while identifying employees of the Brandix garment factory - at which an employee tested positive for the virus recently - and their contacts. Accordingly, the spokesman urged organizations to update the name, National Identity Card number, residential address, and the contact numbers of all employees.
