Kegalle Doctors who tested positive, re-tested for COVID-19

Colombo (News 1st); Director of the Kegalle General Hospital Dr. Mihiri Priyanganie confirmed three doctors attached to the Hospital tested positive for COVID-19.

The three doctors in question were subject to testing again, she said adding the result are awaited and PCR tests were carried out on 104 Medical Staff at the Hospital

She said as a close contact from the Minuwangoda Brandix Apparel Factory apparel was traced using contact tracing and the said patient had visited the OPD or the Outpatient Department.

Thereafter, all medical personnel staff attached to the OPD and Ward 06 of the hospital were subject to a screening process and PCR tests, she said adding, the results of three doctors returned as positive.

Dr. Mihiri Priyanganie went on to note, the Kegalle General Hospital was placed under a process to follow the Health Ministry guidelines, in the event a COVID-19 patient is detected.
